Coronavirus: Did Nostradamus predict the deadly Virus?

Prophecy of ‘great plague’

THE CORONAVIRUS epidemic has killed more than 3,000 people and infected nearly 100,000 worldwide (officialy – but did the 16th-century mystic Nostradamus predict the coronavirus epidemic when he warned of a “great plague” nearly 500 years ago?

The infection has since spread to more than 39 countries outside of China, including 156 people from the UK, fuelling fears for humanity’s safety.

Coronavirus infections have been confirmed in Italy, France, Germany, Spain, Japan, the US, Australia, Singapore, Macau, Malaysia, Cambodia, Sri Lanka, the UAE, South Korea, Vietnam, Thailand, Canada and Nepal among others.

The World Health Organization (WHO) has dubbed the outbreak a global emergency but has not called it a pandemic just yet.

Some have even bizarrely claimed the 15th-century writer and supposed mystic Nostradamus predicted the outbreak of a “great plague” in the future.

Twitter user Marco Malacara said: “The antichrist leading the White House, locusts, floods, flies, coronavirus. I think this is what Nostradamus was telling us about 465 years ago.”

Another person tweeted in Spanish, which translated reads: “The plague of the 21st century has arrived. A Nostradamus prophecy. We will die very soon. #coronavirus”

Baba Vanga 2020 predictions: Shock claims of Cataclysm, End of the World and global crisis.

Baba Vanga is believed by many to have predicted the 9/11 terror attack and the rise of ISIS in the Middle East. With the year 2020 just starting, what did the blind mystic predict for the future of the world? Here are the most terrifying Baba Vanga predictions for 2020.

The Bulgarian mystic, dubbed by her followers the  Balkan Nostradamus, is said to have predicted Brexit, the 2004 Thailand tsunami, the 9/11 terror attack and the sinking of the Russian submarine Kursk in the year 2000. Baba Vanga or Grandmother Vanga, was born Vangeliya Pandeva Dimitrova in 1911 in the Former Yugoslav Republic of Macedonia. The woman lost her eyesight at a young age but the event supposedly unlocked in her powers of clairvoyance and hindsight. Today, Baba Vanga’s supporters claim she has foretold the end of the world, the rise to power of Vladimir Putin and a mysterious illness which will strike down US President Donald Trump.

In their guidebook to Bulgaria, titled Bulgaria, authors Jonathan Bousfield and Dan Richardson wrote: “Twelve kilometres northers of Petrich, Rupite is famed in Bulgaria as the home village and burial place of the oracle Baba Vanga.

“Legend has it that at the age of six, she witnessed an angel who offered her the choice between sight and clairvoyance, and she chose the latter.

“Vanga’s subsequent prophecies and healing skills gained her a wide following – including Politburo members – and her vision of Varna engulfed in by water was vindicated when it was discovered that the city stood on an underground lake – from which day on, high-rise building was prohibited.

“In old age she had fewer VIP visitors but her predictions were still heeded – not least by people chewing their lottery numbers.”

Vladimir Putin will survive an assassination attempt in 2020

Baba Vanga is said to have predicted a daring assassination attempt on the Russian President by someone from within his own circles.

Charlotte Dobre of the InformationOverload YouTube channel said: “In the coming year, she said that there will be an assassination attempt on Vladimir Putin by a member of his own security team and Europe will experience an economic collapse.”

Mr Putin, who first took office in 2000 and previously served as an intelligence officer, is no stranger to attempts on his life.

The President has admitted at least four assassination attempts have failed to take him out and he is now under the protection of an elite team of snipers.

PROPHECIES

Prophecy is a process in which one or more messages that have been communicated to a prophet are then communicated to others. Such messages typically involve divine inspiration, interpretation, or revelation of conditioned events to come (cf. divine knowledge) as well as testimonies or repeated revelations that the world is divine. The process of prophecy especially involves reciprocal communication of the prophet with the (divine) source of the messages. Throughout history, clairvoyance has commonly been used and associated with prophecy.

Various concepts of prophecy are found throughout all of the world’s religions and cults. To a certain degree prophecy can be an integral concept within any religion or cult. The term has found deep usage in the Abrahamic religions, including Judaism, Christianity, Islam, Baha’i and Mormonism along with many others.

Definitions of Prophecy

Rabbinic scholar Maimonides, suggested that “prophecy is, in truth and reality, an emanation sent forth by Divine Being through the medium of the Active Intellect, in the first instance to man’s rational faculty, and then to his imaginative faculty. The former closely relates to the definition by Al-Fârâbî who developed the theory of prophecy in Islam.  The Catholic Encyclopedia defines a Christian conception of prophecy as “understood in its strict sense, it means the foreknowledge of future events, though it may sometimes apply to past events of which there is no memory, and to present hidden things which cannot be known by the natural light of reason. From a skeptical point of view, there is a Latin maxim: prophecy written after the fact vaticinium ex eventu.

Nostradamus 2019 prediction: Trump assassination attemt, War and Hard Brexit

Nostradamus’ frightening prophecies and predictions have baffled critics and followers alike for centuries – but did Nostradamus have any prophetic dreams for the year 2019? One psychic expert believes Nostradamus tried to warn the US, the UK and the rest of the world of tragedy.

Michel de Nostradame is arguably the world’s most well-recognised prophet and supposed-mystic who followers claim prophesied the future with eerie accuracy. Although Nostradamus’ cryptic quatrain passages do not contain detailed timestamps and specifics, supporters believe a number of his prophecies are yet to come true. And with the new year finally in full swing, many are wondering what these 16th-century prophecies are and whether they will come true in 2019. Craig Hamilton-Parker, a British psychic and medium who runs Psychics.co.uk, has now revealed Nostradamus predicted a particularly violent year ahead for US President Donald Trump.

According to the psychic expert, Nostradamus warned of an assassination attempt on Mr Trump, armed conflict in the Middle East and renewed relations with his Russian counterpart between 2019 and 2020.

Mr Hamilton-Parker told Express.co.uk: “I feel Trump will have a second term but Nostradamus’s predicted an assassination attempt will be in the second term.

“Nostradamus also predicted a war in the Middle East.

“I feel that we will get the first rumbles of this in 2019 but it will not be full out war.”

The psychic then said Mr Trump will work out some sort of deal or treaty with President Vladimir Putin.

This deal will supposedly mirror President Trump’s pact with North Korea, signed at the June 2018 North Korea–United States summit.

One thing Nostradamus did not predict, however, is the result or the effects of the Brexit vote.

Mr Hamilton-Parker himself foresaw a no-deal hard Brexit in the pipeline which is why he said he was surprised to see Brexit omitted from Nostradamus’s prophecies.

According to the Psychic, who claims to have predicted these events as early as September 2017, Prime Minister Theresa May will try to cling onto power until Britain leaves the European Union.

Trump will have a second term but Nostradamus’s predicted an assassination attempt

Craig Hamilton-Parker, Psychic

But a rapid leadership change in the Conservative Party will see a new face lead the Government.

The psychic said: “What is most strange about the Nostradamus predictions is that they do not appear to have any references to Brexit.

“I foresee a hard Brexit with May in power to the last minute when there will be a leadership challenge.

“There will then be a leadership challenge with David Davis and Boris Johnson as the front runners – Johnson gets the crown.

“We will also see the advent of a new party as I predicted in the Daily Express before. But could I be wrong?

“Why did the western world’s greatest visionary miss this out?

“Maybe Nostradamus did not mention this monumental event for Britain, France and Europe because it will never happen?”

Nostradamus’ detractors, however, are unconvinced by his supposed mystic powers and question whether the French apothecary could genuinely predict the future.

His followers believe Nostradamus correctly predicted the Great Fire of London in 1666 and the rise of Adolf Hitler to power.

But critics claim Nostradamus’ published prophecies are too vague to be considered genuine and require a strong dose of hindsight to draw conclusions.

Brian Dunning, the author of the Skeptoid podcast, said: “Nostradamus’ writings are exploited in a number of fallacious ways.

“Ambiguous and wrong translations, ‘creative’ interpretations, hoax writings, fictional accounts, and the breaking of non-existent codes within his quatrains all contribute to a vast body of work, all of it wrong, and many times the size of everything Nostradamus ever actually wrote.”

One of Nostradamus’ most shocking predictions is that of the death of King Henry II of France.

The French monarch died on July 10, 1559, just four years after Nostradamus prophecies his death in his 1555 magnum opus Les Propheties.

Nostradamus is also believed to have correctly predicted the Great Fire of London in 1666 when he wrote of London “burning up in the fire of ’66”.

The French mystic is also said to have foretold the 1789 French revolution when he wrote: “Songs, chants, and demands will come from the enslaved.

“Held captive by the nobility in their prisons. At a later date, brainless idiots will take these as divine utterances.”

Some conspiracists also claim Nostradamus predicted the horrors of Adolf Hitler’s reign over Europe.

Nostradamus wrote: “From the depths of the West of Europe, A young child will be born of poor people,

“He who by his tongue will seduce a great troop; His fame will increase towards the realm of the East.”

Nostradamus is also credited with correctly predicting the assassination of US President John F Kennedy in 1963.

Nostradamus wrote: “The ancient task will be completed, From on high, evil will fall on the great man.

“A dead innocent will be accused of the deed, The guilty on will remain in the mist.”

President Kennedy was assassinated on November 22, 1963, when he was shot by Lee Harvey Oswald.

Another cryptic passage attributed to Nostradamus is said to have forewarned of the devastating US nuclear attack on the Japanese cities Hiroshima and Nagasaki in 1954.

The quatrain in question reads: “Near the gates and within two cities, there will be scourges like of which was never seen.

“Famine within plague, people put out by steel, crying to the great immortal God for relief.”

Should you believe Nostradamus’ predictions?

Peter Lemesurier, a linguist and author of 10 books on Nostradamus, has argued Nostradamus’ quatrains were not mystic in origin.

Instead, the Nostradamus expert argued the French apothecary believed history constantly repeats itself and future vents would mirror those of the past.

In his book Nostradamus, Bibliomancer: The Man, The Myth, The Truth, he wrote: “No quatrain, as far as I am aware, has ever been used in advance to predict in terms any event that was not probably in the offing anyway.”

And according to Brian Dunning, science writer and head of the Skeptoid podcast, people who interpret messages from Nostradamus’ quatrains do the writer a great disservice.

Mr Dunning said on episode 66 of his science podcast there is no evidence to support the claim the 15th century apothecary had any mystic powers.

Instead, he said there is more evidence to suggest it takes a great deal of hindsight to connect Nostradamus’ prophecies to actual world events.

He said: “Michel de Nostredame was truly one of the brilliant lights of his day, but to subscribe to false stories and urban legends is to disrespect who the man actually was.

“Appreciate his contributions to medicine and Renaissance literature, and don’t trivialise his good works in favour of a pretended history of paranormal magical powers.”

Nostradamus’ supposedly mystic powers were also questioned by evangelical preacher pastor Paul Begley from West Lafayette in Indiana, US.

The Christian preacher argued try prophecy and predictions of the future can only come from the Bible and God himself.

The preacher said: “Nostradamus’ prophecies are open to interpretation because he wrote in four stanza riddles.

“You know, look, he predicted the London Fire, he predicted the rise of Hitler, the Holocaust, he predicted the JFK assassination, he predicted World War Two – man, I could of the top of my head a bunch of them.

“But he also missed a bunch. His accuracy is around 70 percent, so no, I do not call them prophecies.

“Prophecies are 100 percent accurate. Predictions can vary ok?

“But it is fascinating to look at and people always want to know what it says and it’s ok because sometimes, some of those predictions do match Bible prophecy.

“Not always, but some of them do and so we take look at it because of folks who are curious. People are curious.”

Conspiracy theories

Many unproven conspiracy theories exist with varying degrees of popularity, frequently related to clandestine government plans and elaborate murder plots. Conspiracy theories usually deny consensus or cannot be proven using the historical or scientific method, and are not to be confused with research concerning verified conspiracies such as Germany’s pretense for invading Poland in World War II. Conspiracy theory is often considered the opposite of institutional analysis.

New World Order

The New World Order theory states that a group of international elites controls governments, industry, and media organizations, with the goal of establishing global hegemony. They are alleged to be implicated in most of the major wars of the last two centuries, to carry out secretly staged events, and to deliberately manipulate economies. Organizations alleged to be part of the plot include the Federal Reserve System, the Council on Foreign Relations, Trilateral Commission, the Bilderberg Group, the European Union, the United Nations, the World Bank, the International Monetary Fund, Bohemian Grove, Le Cercle and Yale University society Skull and Bones.

Illuminati

Conspiracy theories concerning the Illuminati, a short-lived eighteenth-century Enlightenment society, appear to have originated in the late nineteenth century, when some conservatives in Europe came to believe that the group had been responsible for the French Revolution of 1789-1799. Hoaxes about the Illuminati were later spread in the 1960s by a group of American practical jokers known as the Discordians, who, for example, wrote a series of fake letters about the Illuminati to Playboy magazine.
The Discordian hoax has resulted in one of the world’s foremost conspiracy theories, which claims that the ‘Illuminati’ are secretly promoting the posited New World Order. Theorists believe that a wide range of musicians, including Beyoncé and Whitney Houston, have been associated with the ‘group’. Prominent theorists include Mark Dice and David Icke.

Antichrist

Apocalyptic prophecies, particularly Christian claims about the End Times, have inspired a range of conspiracy theories. Many of these cite the Antichrist, a leader who will supposedly create an oppressive world empire. Countless figures have been called Antichrist, including Holy Roman Emperor Frederick II, Russian emperor Peter the Great, Saladin, pope John XXII, Benito Mussolini and Barack Obama

Chemtrails

Also known as SLAP (Secret Large-scale Atmospheric Program), this theory alleges that water condensation trails (‘contrails’) from aircraft consist of chemical or biological agents, or contain a supposedly toxic mix of aluminum, strontium and barium, under secret government policies. An estimated 17% of people globally believe the theory to be true or partly true. In 2016 the Carnegie Institution for Science published the first-ever peer-reviewed study of chemtrail theory; 76 out of 77 participating atmospheric chemists and geochemists stated that they had seen no evidence to support chemtrail theory, or stated that chemtrail theorists rely on poor sampling.

The Bible and Jesus

Bible conspiracy theories posit that significant parts of the New Testament are false, or have been omitted. Various groups both real (such as the Vatican) and fake (such as the Priory of Sion) are said to suppress relevant information concerning, for example, the dating of the Turin Shroud.

Much of this line of conspiracy theory has been stimulated by a debunked book titled The Holy Blood and the Holy Grail (1982), which claimed that Jesus and Mary Magdalene were lovers and that their offspring and descendants were secretly hidden in Europe following the death of Jesus, from whom the then-living French draughtsman Pierre Plantard claimed descent. Interest in this hoax saw a resurgence following the publication of Dan Brown’s 2003 novel, The Da Vinci Code.

Islam

“War against Islam” is a conspiracy theory in Islamist discourse which describes an alleged plot to either harm or annihilate the social system within Islam. The perpetrators of this conspiracy are alleged to be non-Muslims and “false Muslims”, allegedly in collusion with political actors in the Western world. The “War against Islam” theory is often used in order to refer to modern social problems and changes, but the Crusades are often seen as its starting point. Love Jihad, also called Romeo Jihad, refers to a conspiracy theory concerning Muslim males who are said to target non-Muslim girls for conversion to Islam by feigning love.

False flag operations

False flag operations are covert operations designed to appear as if they are being carried out by other entities. Some allegations of false flag operations have been verified or have been subjects of legitimate historical dispute (such as the 1933 Reichstag arson attack).

Discussions of unsubstantiated allegations of such operations feature strongly in conspiracy theory discourse. Other allegations of similar operations have attached to the bombing of Pearl Harbor, the Oklahoma City bombing, the 2004 Madrid train bombings, and the 1964 Gulf of Tonkin incident. The rise of ISIS gave rise to conspiracy theories that it had been created by the USA, CIA, Mossad, or Hillary Clinton. The same happened after the rise of Boko Haram.

9/11

The multiple attacks made on the US by Islamist terrorists using hijacked aircraft on 11 September 2001, have proved especially attractive to conspiracy theorists. Theories may include reference to missile or hologram technology. By far, the most popular theory is that the attacks were in fact controlled demolitions, a theory which has been rejected by the engineering profession and the 9/11 Commission.

FEMA

The United States’ Federal Emergency Management Agency is the subject of many theories, including the allegation that the organization has been engaged in the building of concentration camps on US soil, in advance of the imposition of martial law and genocide.

Deep State

Occasionally used as a neutral term to denote a nation’s bureaucracy, the conspiratorial notion of a “deep state” is a concept originating principally in Middle Eastern and North African politics with some basis in truth, and has been known in the US since the 1960s. It has since come to prominence under the Trump presidency. “Deep state” in the latter sense refers to an unidentified secret “elite” who act in co-ordinated manipulation of a nation’s politics and government. Proponents of such theories have included Canadian author Peter Dale Scott, who has promoted the idea in the US since at least the 1990s, as well as Breitbart News, Infowars and US President Donald Trump. A 2017 poll by ABC News and The Washington Post indicated that 48% of Americans believe in the existence of a conspiratorial “deep state” in the US.

Artificial diseases

Scientists believe that HIV was transferred from monkeys to humans in the 1930s. Evidence exists, however, that the KGB deliberately disseminated a notion in the 1980s that it was invented by the CIA. This idea, and similar ideas concerning Ebola, have since been promoted by persons such as actor Steven Seagal, Nation of Islam leader Louis Farrakhan and former South Africa President Thabo Mbeki. Similar conspiracy theories allege that pharmaceutical companies assist in the creation of conditions and diseases including ADHD, HSV and HPV.

Vaccination

A popular conspiracy theory states that the pharmaceutical industry has mounted a cover-up of a causal link between vaccines and autism. The theory took hold with the publication in 1998 of a fraudulent paper by discredited former doctor Andrew Wakefield. The resulting anti-vaccine movement has been promoted by a number of prominent persons including Rob Schneider, Jim Carrey and President Donald Trump, and has led to increased rates of infection and death from diseases such as measles in many countries, including the US, Italy, Germany, Romania and the UK. Vaccine conspiracy theories have been widespread in Nigeria since at least 2003, as well as in Pakistan. Such theories may feature claims that vaccines are part of a secret anti-Islam plot, and have been linked to fatal mass shootings and bombings at vaccine clinics in both countries.

Global warming

Global warming conspiracy theorists typically allege that the science behind global warming has been invented or distorted for ideological or financial reasons. Many have promoted such theories, including US President Donald Trump, US Senator James Inhofe, British journalist Christopher Booker, and Viscount Christopher Monckton.

Weather and earthquake control projects

Numerous theories pertain to real or alleged weather-controlling projects. Theories include the debunked assertion that HAARP, a radio-technology research program funded by the US government, is a secret weather-controlling system. Some theorists have blamed 2005’s Hurricane Katrina on HAARP. HAARP has also been suggested to have somehow caused earthquakes, such as the 2010 Haiti earthquake, the 2011 Tōhoku earthquake and tsunami or the 2013 Saravan earthquake. Theories concerning HAARP may also refer to mind-control technology.

RFID chips

Radio frequency identification chips, such as are implanted into pets as a means of tracking, have drawn the interest of conspiracy theorists who posit that this technology is secretly in widespread use on humans. Former Whitby town councilor Simon Parkes has promoted this theory, which may be related to conspiracy theories concerning vaccination, electronic banking and the Antichrist.

Technology suppression

Numerous theories pertain to the alleged suppression of certain technologies and energies. Such theories may focus on the Vril Society Conspiracy, allegations of the suppression of the electric car by fossil-fuel companies (as detailed in the 2006 documentary Who Killed the Electric Car?), and the Phoebus cartel, set up in 1924, which has been accused of suppressing longer-lasting light bulbs. Other long-standing allegations include the suppression of perpetual motion and cold fusion technology by government agencies, special interest groups, or fraudulent inventors.

False History

Some theories claim that the dates of historical events have been deliberately distorted. These include the phantom time hypothesis of German conspiracy theorist Heribert Illig, who in 1991 published an allegation that 297 years had been added to the calendar by establishment figures such as Pope Sylvester II in order to position themselves at the millennium.

A comparable theory, known as the New Chronology, is most closely associated with Russian theorist Anatoly Fomenko. Fomenko holds that history is many centuries shorter than is widely believed and that numerous historical documents have been fabricated, and legitimate documents destroyed, for political ends. Adherents of such ideas have included chess grandmaster Garry Kasparov.

US Space Force

Scientific space programs are of particular interest to conspiracy theorists. The most prolific theories allege that the US moon landings were staged by NASA in a film studio, with some alleging the involvement of director Stanley Kubrick. The Soviet space program has also attracted theories that the government concealed evidence of failed flights. A more recent theory, emergent following the activities of hacker Gary McKinnon, suggests that a secret program of manned space fleets known as Solar Warden exists, supposedly acting under the United Nations.

Nibiru (Planet X)

Conspiracy theorists have long posited a plot by organizations such as NASA to conceal the existence of a large planet in the Solar System known as Nibiru or ‘Planet X’, which, allegedly, will one day pass close enough to the Earth to destroy it. Predictions for the date of destruction have included 2003, 2012 and 2017. The theory began to develop following the publication of The 12th Planet (1976), by discredited Russian-American author Zecharia Sitchin, Nancy Lieder, and has since been promoted by American conspiracy theorist and End Times theorist David Meade. The notion has remained popular, and received renewed attention during the period prior to the solar eclipse of 21 August 2017. Other conspiracy theorists in 2017 also predicted Nibiru would appear, including Terral Croft and YouTube pastor Paul Begley.

Five Future Predictions That Will Leave You Reeling …

Whether or not humans have psychic powers or not has long been a hotly debated topic. Whatever your own beliefs are on this matter, it’s hard to deny that there haven’t been some pretty impressive predictions over the years. While skeptics may put it down to chance or informed guesswork, believers insist that these predictions are proof of the higher brain power that many humans apparently possess.

Most of us know about Nostradamus, but what other predictions have become eerily accurate as the years unfold? Whether they were intentional or accidental predictions, have a look at some of the most compelling prophecies of all time and see if it’s enough to make you a believer…

prophecies predictions and future visions - http://www.alamongordo.com

The Predictions of the Sleeping Prophet

After Nostradamus, Edgar Cayce is arguably the next most celebrated psychic and for good reason. Nicknamed the ‘Sleeping Prophet’ due to the meditative state he would put himself into in order to make his predictions, Cayce is credited with foreseeing the start and end of both World Wars, the Great Depression, the deaths of Presidents Kennedy and Roosevelt, the shifting of the Earth’s poles and the rise of Hitler — to name just a few.

His most famous prediction is perhaps the Great Wall Street Crash:

“… adverse forces that will come in 1929… unless another of the more STABLE banking conditions come to the relief, a great disturbance in financial circles…we may expect a considerable break and bear market…” It wasn’t just world events that Cayce was able to predict. In a reading from 1927 Cayce forecast future medical advancements that would make an accurate diagnosis from a single drop of blood a reality — and this was a time when even the notion of blood as a diagnostic tool would have seemed like science fiction. Cayce’s predictions didn’t just involve other people — he also correctly predicted his own death, foreseeing on January 1, 1945 that he would be buried within four days. He died two days later of a stroke.

The Predictions of Mark Twain

The name Mark Twain is familiar to most but in the context of celebrated American author; lesser known are Twain’s apparent psychic abilities. Like Edward Cayce, Twain also predicted his own death. Born in 1835 when Halley’s Comet was visible, Twain foresaw that he would also die during a time when Halley’s Comet was visible. Accurately, Twain died on cue — in 1910, when the comet was once again visible in the night sky.

Unfortunately for Twain, his psychic abilities seemed to centre on death; he foresaw his brother’s death in a vivid dream where he envisioned him lying in a coffin between two chairs in his sister’s living room. The dream was so realistic Twain was unsettled for a long time after her awoke. A few weeks later Twain’s brother was suddenly killed, and when Twain entered his sister’s house he saw the exact same vision from his dream: his brother laid out to rest in his coffin between the two chairs, even with the exact same flower arrangement placed on his chest.

The Predictions of Nikola Tesla

The famed Serbian American inventor Nikola Tesla predicted personal wireless devices — in 1909. “It will soon be possible to transmit wireless messages all over the world so simply that any individual can own and operate his own apparatus.” Though far beyond imagination at that time, Tesla predicted that this wireless device would be hand-held, straightforward to use and that one day it would be possible to send wireless messages all over the world. In addition, “the household’s daily newspaper will be printed wirelessly in the home during the night.“ Sound familiar?

Tesla was also able to accurately predict the nature of humanity as well as technology. Believing that “the solution of our problems does not lie in destroying but in mastering the machine,” Tesla foresaw a world where science, not power and conflict, became the top priority for humankind:

“Today the most civilized countries of the world spend a maximum of their income on war and a minimum on education. The twenty-first century will reverse this order. It will be more glorious to fight against ignorance than to die on the field of battle. The discovery of a new scientific truth will be more important than the squabbles of diplomats.”

The Predictions of George Orwell’s 1984

Initially George Orwell’s dystopian science-fiction novel 1984 seemed exactly that – science fiction. But fast forward to the 21st Century and things begin to look a bit spookier. Orwell’s vision of a humanity kept under constant surveillance by Big Brother is something that is, unfortunately, familiar to most of us. In 1948, when Orwell wrote 1984, television technology was in its infancy and cameras were big and cumbersome; just the idea of closed circuit surveillance cameras was entirely removed from reality.

But it wasn’t just CCTV that Orwell predicted with eerie accuracy — like Tesla before him, Orwell was apparently a bit of a wizard at predicting the technology of the future. Orwell writes about “telescreens [that] received and transmitted simultaneously” — in 2014, how uncannily similar this is to the handheld “telescreens” we carry with us everywhere we go and almost never turn off.

Orwell’s genius is not reserved for technological predictions though, as he also correctly predicted future advancements in aesthetics. In 1984, surgeons were able to “alter people beyond recognition” and literally modify a person’s appearance entirely. This was just a dream in the 1940s – the first face transplant didn’t occur until 2005 – but in today’s world, drastic changes in one’s appearance are often seen as the norm.

The Prediction of the Periodic Table

In 1863, only 60 of the 118 elements were known — and yet Dmitri Mendeleev, a Russian chemist, somehow designed a periodic table that foretold the weights and properties of the undiscovered elements perfectly. Is this an example of psychic powers being used to advance the knowledge of the world? Well, maybe… but in this case it’s more likely that Mendeleev was an exceptional scientist and used his knowledge and some guesswork to make these scarily accurate predictions.

By establishing the atomic weight and properties of elements, Mendeleev began to see patterns in the table. He then observed the spaces and predicted which elements could, and would fill, them. Among many of these projected elements is germanium, which wasn’t discovered until 23 years later; Mendeleev even named the element “ekasilicon.”

World war 3 is coming !

WORLD WAR III IS COMING !

Although there has been no major combat between the great powers since the Second World War, there are three key fronts emerging that make the prospect of a third global conflict alarmingly conceivable.

The prospect of a global conflict – World War III if you like – appears somewhat unthinkable. Since the Second World War, there has been no major war between the great powers. The original post-war European project was based around peace, social justice and harmony. The unravelling of this project, accompanied by rising nationalism, is likely to exacerbate the dangers of war on a continent with a fraught history of bloody conflict.

COLD WAR II ALAMONGORDO - http://www.alamongordo.com/

In the 20th century, both world wars were unanticipated. Christopher Clark’s much acclaimed The Sleepwalkers: How Europe Went to War in 1914 – published in timely fashion for the centenary of First World War – charted Europe’s unexpected descent into war. First World War had been preceded by a prelude of serenity – the long 19th century of relative peace and stability. The great powers of Edwardian Europe had been engaged in diplomacy and trade prior to the onslaught of carnage.

During the 1930s, the major powers were keen to avert another war hence the policy of appeasement, the initial reluctance of the US to become involved and the Nazi-Soviet pact. Neville Chamberlain’s ill-fated announcement of “peace for our time” should be viewed in this context. Throughout the Cold War, the concept of a third world war was inextricably associated with nuclear war and the MAD doctrine of Mutual Assured Destruction.

Yet it is possible that future conflict between the great powers may take the form of another cold war or even a conventional (as opposed to thermonuclear) hot war. In the 21st century, there are three key fronts emerging as the loci for future wars. The first is the Europe-Russia front with a new cold war triggered by the Ukrainian conflict. The second is the Middle East cauldron centred around Isis and the Syrian war. The third is the Asia-Pacific front with a face-off between the United States and China.

Cold War II

Time magazine – the original Cold War mouthpiece of the American establishment – trumpeted the start of Cold War II in 2014. Western powers have characterised Vladimir Putin’s incursions into Georgia in 2008 and lately Ukraine as aggressive expansionism. Evidently the irony of the US casting aspersions around violation of national sovereignty, in light of the folly of the Iraq war, seems to have been lost. The realist perspective – as articulated by John Mearsheimer in the pages of US foreign policy bible Foreign Affairs – is that the Ukrainian crisis was preceded by two decades of NATO expansionism up to the borders of Russia. This was in contravention of promises made to respect these boundaries at the end of the Cold War.

In this view, events in Ukraine have merely been the endgame of this process. It is worth recalling that the United States did not respond amicably to Soviet interference in Cuba in the 1960s. Such arguments have been rendered somewhat academic as they are overtaken by events. Increasing deployments of troops by both Nato and Russia, dangerous confrontations and massive war games are being played out.
The European Leadership Network (ELN) think-tank produced a 2015 report entitled Preparing for the Worst: Are Russian and Nato Military Exercises Making War in Europe more Likely? The report analysed recent war games including a Russian exercise involving 80,000 military personnel and a set of Nato war games comprising 15,000 personnel.

It went on to say that, “Both exercises show that each side is training with the other side’s capabilities and most likely war plans in mind… Whilst spokespeople may maintain that these operations are targeted against hypothetical opponents, the nature and scale of them indicate otherwise. Russia is preparing for a conflict with Nato, and Nato is preparing for a possible confrontation with Russia.”

Recently, the US has stationed troops in Poland in the largest deployment of American troops in Europe since the end of the Cold War. As reported, these US troops will also, “fan out across other eastern European states, including Estonia, Bulgaria and Romania”. Russia alarmed the Baltic states by, “moving nuclear-capable Iskander-M missiles to its naval base at Kaliningrad in the autumn”.

According to the New York Times, an American missile shield is, “to be built in Poland mirroring one already in place in Romania”. Whether Trump’s attempted rapprochement with Russia defuses the situation remains to be seen. If the cold warriors in the Atlanticist defence establishment and hard-liners on the Russian side have their way, then tensions are only likely to be ratcheted up.

Middle East Geopolitics

The intrepid German author Jürgen Todenhöfer took the concept of embedded journalism to a whole new level by holing up with Isis. He points out that in the immediate aftermath of 9/11, there were only a few hundred Islamist fighters in the Hindu Kush mountains. Fast forward through 16 years of the war on terror costing some $4,000bn (£3,300bn) and leaving 1.3 million dead, according to Physicians for Social Responsibility, and the number of terrorists is currently about 100,000. Even on its own terms, the war on terror has been an abysmal failure. How on earth did this happen? Retired US General Wesley Clark revealed that, in the wake of 9/11, the Pentagon drew up plans to attack 7 countries.

These plans have been adhered to with remarkable fidelity with Western involvement in Iraq, Syria, Libya, Afghanistan, Pakistan, Somalia and Yemen. The pretext may have been terrorism but the intention was to guarantee economic and military supremacy in the region. Many critics argued that the Iraq war was fundamentally about the opening up of state assets to global capital. Naomi Klein reported that the reconstruction of Iraq was estimated to have been worth about $100bn to the US economy. In the process, Iraq was transformed from a secular dictatorship into a Jihadist safe haven. Donald Rumsfeld’s decision to disband Saddam Hussein’s Baathist army led to chaos and now makes up a significant component of Isis.

The deliberate stoking of tensions through a US sponsored sectarian Shia-led Iraqi government was notable. This ultimately led to the Sunni backlash and the spawning of al-Qaeda in Iraq. This is a hallmark of colonial-era tactics of divide and rule. In fact, British and American intelligence predicted that the Iraq war would lead to the amplification of Islamist terrorism.

Back in 2007, the veteran investigative journalist Seymour Hersh posited in an extended New Yorker essay, The Redirection, that US Middle East geopolitical strategy was directed against the regional superpower of Iran and its Shia sphere of influence extending through Syria and to Hezbollah in Lebanon. Hersh has since elaborated, in a series of controversial London Review of Books essays, that the overthrow of Bashar al-Assad would have severed this Shia sphere. Following the destruction of Iraq, this sphere remained the only obstacle to US full-spectrum dominance of the world’s largest oil fields.

The Syrian war has seen allies – Saudi Arabia, Qatar and Turkey – arming and funding radical Jihadist groups, such as the al-Nusra front. Former Vice President Joe Biden – renowned for bloopers – frankly admitted as much to a Harvard audience. The Wikileaks disclosures of Hillary Clinton’s emails revealed that she too was aware of Saudi and Qatari governments arming Isis. In realpolitik, the ends apparently justify the means.

WORLDWARIII 2018 WORLD WAR 3 2019 - http://www.alamongordo.com

Hersh elaborates on how British and American intelligence have been enmeshed with the use of CIA front companies in an arms pipeline from Libya to Syria dubbed the “rat line”. It was under these conditions that the mutation into the Frankenstein monster that is Isis took place. In fact, a 2012 Defence Intelligence Agency memo had anticipated the rise of Isis and its establishment in Syria in order to “isolate the Syrian regime, which is considered the strategic depth of the Shia expansion”.

The terrorist attacks in Europe have demonstrated the difficulty in containing the spill-over from these policies. The Syrian war has seen the return of great-power politics with the involvement of Russia. This contamination has the potential for a wider conflict in which western countries could be drawn in. One possible trajectory is that a Sunni-Shia war along the Saudi-Iran axis looks increasingly likely. Yet this destabilisation of Iraq and Syria may well have been engineered deliberately.

According to Nafeez Ahmed, documents from the Rand Corporation and US private intelligence firm Stratfor confirm this picture. An incendiary report, authored by no less than former Bush Vice President Dick Cheney and former deputy Defence Secretary Paul Wolfowitz, envisioned ethno-sectarian partitioning of Iraq. All in all, this could represent a new Sykes-Picot (the post Ottoman empire settlement) or redrawing of the Middle East carving it up into smaller, weaker territories, which are more pliable.

Back in the 1990s, the political scientist Samuel Huntington made some dire predictions of a clash of civilisations. Even in the wake of 9/11, such apocalyptic theories appeared quaint; now they no longer seem absurd. Isis directives aim to create more violence and chaos with the obliteration of the “grey zone” of multicultural societies, in which non-Muslims and Muslims live side by side, forcing Muslims to join the “caliphate”. Ironically, US policy is doing Isis’s work for them and, in another bizarre twist, it seems that Isis is aiding US geopolitical strategy.

Asia Pacific

Ghost Fleet: A Novel of the Next World War is an intelligent thriller written by PW Singer and August Cole, both of whom have national security expertise. Ghost Fleet imagines what a 21st century world war might look like pitting the US, China and Russia against each other complete with cyber-warfare, robotics and drones. But could this nightmarish fiction turn into dystopian reality?

During the Obama administration, the Pentagon pursued the pivot to Asia aiming to transfer 60 per cent of naval bases to Asia. The US also strengthened alliances with Japan and other Far East partners to “contain” China. Economically, the US pursued the Trans-Pacific Partnership (TPP) – a massive trade agreement, which would have deliberately excluded China. Admittedly, a Trump executive order indicates imminent withdrawal from TPP. In recent years, tensions have been mounting between China and Japan.

Both sides are now equipped with vertical take-off aircraft. There have also been a series of stand-offs between the US and China in the South China Sea. The US is currently installing a missile defence system in South Korea prompting China to warn of a new atomic arms race in the region. A recent US taskforce report unsurprisingly concluded that America and China are on a dangerous collision course.

The Trump transition is likely to exacerbate US-China tensions. Trump has threatened a trade war with China. While his chief strategist Steve Bannon stated in March of last year that, “We’re going to war in the South China Sea in five to 10 years…. There’s no doubt about that.” If there is a coherent philosophy of Trumpism then it is represented by the ideology of Bannon. Bannon subscribes to the Huntingtonian idea of a coming clash of civilisations between west and east with the Orient bracketing both China and Islam.

Bannon views China and Islam as expansionist threats. He has also stated that the Judaeo-Christian west is, “at the beginning stages of a global war against Islamic fascism” and that, “We’re clearly going into, I think, a major shooting war in the Middle East again.” China will eventually overtake the US in economic terms but US supreme military dominance is unchallenged. This is a dangerous discrepancy as it means that the US will use this military power to guarantee its economic prerogative – particularly as a massive national security apparatus now seems to dictate US foreign policy. As Obama has put it, the US is exceptional because it acts.

This would be in keeping with the default operational mode of capitalism. One might even argue that capitalism often resolves systemic economic crises through war. After all, a war economy with militarisation, mobilisation, full employment and jingoism can be viewed as the ultimate solution to economic woes and social unrest.

The transition of Western democracy to oligarchy and the descent into soft fascism is under way. Citizens will need to participate actively, rather than as passive consumers, to demand an end to this cycle of violence from governments and to defend the assault on democratic processes. We can only hope that British foreign secretary Sir Edward Grey’s refrain on the commencement of First World War – “The lamps are going out all over Europe, we shall not see them lit again in our life-time” – will not be repeated in ours. But the omens are not good. As the late Eric Hobsbawm put it, the old century has not ended well.

Seven Prophecies of Edgar Cayce Yet to Come

EDGAR CAYCE’S SEVEN PROPHECIES YET TO COME

Prophecies for 2018 and the future by Edgar Cayce - http://www.alamongordo.com

1 – LARGE CONFLICT IN THE PERSIAN GULF

Edgar Cayce reading 3976-26 : “…As is understood by many, in the earth manifestation and the cycle of time much repeats itself … There are still influences indicated in the lives of groups banded as nations, banded as peoples, still influenced by those happenings. What then, ye ask, is the influence that makes for this great change that may be expected? The powers of light and darkness, as then, as sixteen hundred (1600) years before. As in those periods, so today – we find nation against nation; the powers of death, destruction, the wrecking of that which has been and is held near and dear to the hearts of those who have through one form or another set ideals. These are not to be questioned, in that as may be a helpful force; but what is coming to pass? And how may ye as individuals help? … Strifes will arise through the period. Watch for them near Davis Strait in the attempts there for the keeping of the life line to a land open. Watch for them in Libya and in Egypt, in Ankara and in Syria, through the straits about those areas above Australia, in the Indian Ocean and the Persian Gulf.”

2 – WILL OUR LIFESPAN AS HUMAN BEINGS, BE EXTENDED ?

Edgar Cayce reading 244-2 : “Now, we find there are many changes in the body since we have had this – many for good. Many of the organs and the conditions show the changes as come about by the natural, or so called natural conditions in changes as the body succumbs to the effects of age or usage in the system. Much of this may be overcome. (Man should live much longer than has been ordinarily given – and will!)”

3 – IS A NEW ROOT RACE EVOLVING ?

The Edgar Cayce information suggests that humanity’s consciousness has evolved and expanded over time. Cayce stated that this expansion of consciousness could be viewed throughout the Bible, from Genesis to Revelation. From the readings perspective the next great evolution would be tied to the development of what Cayce termed “the fifth root race.” An evolutionary occurrence that would mark a New Age and a new understanding of humanity’s relationship to God :

Edgar Cayce reading 470-35 : When a 52-year-old construction engineer asked about this expanding consciousness in 1942, Cayce commented that each individual had to essentially work with personal soul development in order to resonate to that new consciousness: “You expect a new root race. What are you doing to prepare for it? You must prepare food for their bodies as well as their minds and their spiritual development!”

Edgar Cayce reading 5748-6 : Ten years earlier, during a reading on the Great Pyramid in Egypt, Cayce suggested that an ancient “Hall of Records” would be discovered at a time signifying the manifestation of this new level of consciousness.

4 – WILL WE DISCOVER THE DESIGN FOR A SELF-FUELING PERPETUAL-MOTION MACHINE ?

Perhaps with the current focus on renewable resources and energy conservation, we will see this next prophecy come to pass in our lifetimes.

Edgar Cayce reading 4666 : “You will have before you the gasless motor invented by. Yes, we have the body and enquiring mind of (4666), also the associations and those conditions surrounding the perfection of motor which will develop power in its own action. As has been given, the idea and the plans as have been worked out in part along those lines that pull more of the power as produced in compression in drum, with the leads made in these forms that gather vibrations from the air as is forced through drum, are, as we find, the better application of the created energy. In the cams [as] have been used too much slack or play is allowed in their rotation. This is in the drum’s head action that these must be shortened in play.

Edgar Cayce reading 4665-1 : “The connection of [195] and [900] with same – best that these have [4666]’s operations closer under their observations when the completed product is near attained.

“(Q) How may we bring him under our observation? (A) Bring him to … Ohio or N.Y.

“(Q) Is this machine the same as brought to Washington now by Lindbergh? [Charles A. Lindbergh] (A) No. As is here, the [4666] machine would operate on stationary conditions impelling forces; even for now that in gas motors – for, as tested by others, has more to do with that thrown in air and gaining its impelling force from that source.

“(Q) Would it operate perpetually if perfected? (A) Not perpetually, but once started could be kept in motion by created energy of its own source. Other has to have some source of impellation.”

5 – WILL THE THREE HALLS OF RECORDS BE DISCOVERED ?

According to the readings, the people of Atlantis became aware of the fact that their civilization was about to be destroyed. As a result, they hid identical records of the Atlantean civilization in Bimini, in Egypt and in the Yucatan. Numerous readings contend that this Hall of Records will be discovered, including :

Edgar Cayce reading 378-16 : (Q) Give in detail what the sealed room contains (A) A record of Atlantis from the beginnings of those periods when the Spirit took form or began the encasements in that land, and the developments of the peoples throughout their sojourn, with the record of the first destruction and the changes that took place in the land… This in position lies, as the sun rises from the waters, the line of the shadow (or light) falls between the paws of the Sphinx, that was later set as the sentinel or guard, and which may not be entered from the connecting chambers from the Sphinx’s paw (right paw) until the TIME has been fulfilled when the changes must be active in this sphere of man’s experience. Between, then, the Sphinx and the river.”

Edgar Cayce reading 5750-1 : (Q) In which pyramid or temple are the records mentioned in the readings given through this channel on Atlantis, in April, 1932? (A) As given, that temple was destroyed at the time there was the last destruction in Atlantis. Yet, as time draws nigh when changes are to come about, there may be the opening of those three places where the records are one, to those that are the initiates in the knowledge of the One God: The temple by Iltar will then rise again. Also there will be the opening of the temple or hall of records in Egypt, and those records that were put into the heart of the Atlantean land may also be found there – that have been kept, for those that are of that group. The RECORDS are ONE.

6 – WHAT IS THE SHAPE OF THE WORLD TO COME ?

Edgar Cayce reading 3976-29 : Decades before the rest of the world was thinking about the enormous impact that China would have upon the global stage, Edgar Cayce predicted great things for China and its people. On one occasion, Cayce told a group of people that eventually China would become “the cradle of Christianity, as applied in the lives of men.”

Edgar Cayce reading 2834-3 : This suggests the personal application of spiritual principles would become paramount to the Chinese people. Cayce then went on to caution that it would take a long time to manifest but that it was the country’s destiny: “Yea, it is far off as man counts time, but only a day in the heart of God – for tomorrow China will awake.” On another occasion, when a thirty-six-year-old book publisher asked about the destiny of China in 1943, just prior to his own trip to the country to serve in the capacity of a missionary, Cayce promised amazing changes in the country that would lead to more democracy and greater religious freedom. He also suggested that eventually the height of civilization would move from the West to the Chinese people: “And these will progress. For, civilization moves west.”

7 – WILL THERE BE A SECOND COMING ?

The Cayce readings had much to say about the life of Jesus—covering the “lost” years that were never addressed in the Bible. But Cayce also spoke of Jesus’ return and here is an excerpt on that subject :

Edgar Cayce reading 262-49 : “What is meant by “the day of the Lord is near at hand”? (A) That as has been promised through the prophets and the sages of old, the time – and half time – has been and is being fulfilled in this day and generation, and that soon there will again appear in the earth that one through whom many will be called to meet those that are preparing the way for His day in the earth. The Lord, then, will come, ‘even as ye have seen him go.”
